St James’s Walking Group completed a quiet, gentle but scenic walk on Wednesday 13th October around Hedgeley and Powburn. This months walk was led by Sandra Murdie, a member of the group and a local to the village. The walk took us through woodland and around two ponds formed from a disused quarry. We observed a number of birds and other wildlife and it was great to be shown a new area for a lot of us…a good find! The weather was very kind to us and it was good to catch up over a lunch at Ingram Cafe afterwards.
The next two walks are Lordenshaws at Rothbury on 10th November, and from Foxton on Wednesday 8th December. All walks take place on the second Wednesday of the month.
