On Saturday Sept 11th we opened our doors to visitors, as one of the venues, on the Heritage Open day in Alnwick. There was a good turn out on the day from both locals and others visiting the town. Volunteers from St James’s, kindly acted as stewards, showing the visitors around the building and giving a brief history of the building. Visitors were also able to view a slide show of the re-development in 2007/8 on large screens in the hall and sanctuary.
We received lots of positive feedback; one particular highlight being the lit up Dorcas window over the front staircase. We featured in a guided walk around all the churches in Alnwick as part of the day too.
Here’s to the next one.
