2ND ALNWICK (ST JAMES’S) GUIDES AND BROWNIES
The Guides and Brownies invited Madeline to join them for an International Evening in February. However, due to very strong forecast winds, this was postponed to March. Madeline duly turned up and was in for a wonderful surprise! Brownies and Guides had gathered to make a presentation and thank her for her many years with both units. The girls had all brought food, including their own baking, and a happy evening was had by all. They had also made some bunting with a focus on what was special about Brownie and Guides for each of them. The
Brownies gave her a beautiful wooden owl, and the Guides a lovely vase with the Girlguiding logo and a sparkly dragonfly as well as some flowers. They had all signed a huge card. Madeline was delighted with her gifts and so enjoyed catching up with everyone. The evening finished with everyone holding a lighted candle and a quiet time when we silently remembered our Guiding sisters around the world and other people who were special to each of us. We then sang Brownie Bells and Taps before everyone went home. A very special evening.
