Eight of us met on cold wintry morning in Hipsburn, with snow on the ground and

more forecast. We set off up towards Alnmouth Station and then cut down to the

Play Park. From here we crossed the small burn, and continued up through a field

and under the railway line, then diagonally up through a field. The wintry light on

the furrows, the snowy clouds over the sea and wintry showers behind us were all

beautiful in their own way. Eventually we came down through Wooden Farm, over

the level crossing and down to the road between Hipsburn and Warkworth. From

here we took the cycle track back to Hipsburn and the parked cars. A wintry walk,

but one we all really enjoyed.

Foxton Golf Club provided us with another good lunch, and afterwards we planned

our walks for 2023. Once again the focus will be on good eating places, as well as

walks around many of our golf courses.
