Twelve of us met at the layby near Denwick Bridge and headed off towards Peter’s Mill. The Cycle Track was new to some of the group, while the number of houses being built was rather depressing. It was good to see that Lough House, where the Tears lived, was being renovated. After crossing the Aln we walked up through the beech trees and round those that had come down in Arwen, and on along the ridge towards Denwick. The views were so clear and we could see across to Cheviot. We walked down Rabbit Lonnen and back to Peter’s Mill Bridge but continued upstream by the river, coming out on the Denwick road. Lilburn’s did us proud at lunchtime, so that we all felt well exercised and fed.
